Meet Dr. G

Dr. Gaybrielle Jones-Mason (Dr. G), is a native of Birmingham Alabama who can be noted as a director, playwright, novelist, and professor.  She has devoted a large portion of her life to Theatre and Arts Education.  However, she has also made time to study abroad. Dr. G has traveled to Paris, Florence, Venice, Rome, and Pisa as she studied Baroque/Renaissance Art and other forms of Humanities. For the past 15-plus years, Dr. G has gained extensive experience in creating an artistic environment that represents directing styles such as Method Acting, The Brechtian Style of Acting, African Storytelling, and Theatre of the Absurd.  Currently, Dr. G is adapting to new theatrical endeavors, which include but are not limited to residency directing artist, acting in the performance of “He Said, She Said,” along writing a script for her novel entitled “Diary of a Divorcee,” 

Dr. G is primary the Instructional Support liaison for Theatre and Dance in a public school system.  Her areas of impact are theatre education, acting, speech coach, playwriting, dance instructor, program/project management, conflict resolution strategies, cooperative learning methods, diverse student relations, and a professor of Theatre/Humanities.  As an innovative, creative, and versatile director Dr. G has produced more than 50 performances which include but are not limited to; Beauty and the Beast (musical), Fences, Carmen Jones (musical), A Raisin in the Sun, and Dreamgirls (musical).  

 

After obtaining a Doctorate in Education, Dr. G is looking towards her future as a creative theatre artist and lifelong educator.  Focusing on her phenomenal gift of directing and writing for the stage, Dr. G is always looking for new theatrical partnerships or performance opportunities.
